Peugeot, through its local distributor Eurobrands Distributor Inc. (EDI), figured prominently at the recently concluded Auto Focus Auto Rally Corporate Challenge (AFARCC). Leg two of the ARCC, an annual motorsport activity that promotes road safety, was held last Nov. 30 in Subic and was participated in by a total of 15 car manufacturers with 50 vehicles in all.
Despite participating in only its first ARCC, Team Peugeot garnered the third overall spot on the strength of its performance in both legs (the first was held last March in Tagaytay City). EDI’s Team 29, in a Peugeot 3008, was given a special award for finishing the rally’s first stage at the exact prescribed time – a feat that is considerably difficult to achieve.
“Having figured prominently in the ARCC on our first try is something that we at EDI can be truly proud of. We thank all of our team mates – especially Mike Potenciano, Lindy Pelicer and Eggay Quesada – who achieved the very difficult task of running a perfect stage – for helping us achieve this goal and in turn helping us promote road safety,” said Dong Magsajo, Marketing & Communications Director of EDI.
During the first leg of the ARCC held last March, the team composed of Quesada, Magsajo and Tina Mendiola also ran a perfect stage. Team 29’s repeat of the feat solidified Team Peugeot’s standing and guaranteed the third overall spot in the ARCC. The rest of Team Peugeot’s participants did their part as well by coming up with very competitive times that made Team Peugeot’s average score good enough to place them amongst the ARCC’s elite. Participation in the ARCC is among the many ways EDI espouses its road safety advocacy.
